Sling TV’s redesigned app experience is currently being rolled out to Roku device customers, beginning with the Roku Ultra. Sling first unveiled the new app experience a while back, and it’s been steadily trickling out since then. For instance, the update was verified to be available on all Fire TV devices yesterday, and now it’s Roku’s time.

Sling TV is still one of the most popular and cost-effective live TV streaming services in the United States. The app, on the other hand, has always left a lot to be desired, particularly when compared to the app experiences given by some of the other live TV providers, although at a higher monthly premium.

Regardless, Sling TV is launching a new app to provide new and current members a better experience, with Roku Ultra users being the first to get their hands on it. Sling has stated that this is only the beginning of the Roku rollout, with further Roku devices receiving their own software update in the coming weeks.

Users should anticipate a number of fundamental changes to the way Sling TV looks and functions after installing the revised app experience. All of this adds up to a “personalized, intuitive, and attractive design,” according to Sling, which is meant to make content discovery quicker and simpler.

Sling’s new app experience has changed.

The first and most noticeable improvement Roku Ultra (or Fire TV) customers can look forward to is a new home screen experience with an improved navigation menu that makes it easier to reach key sections like on demand, DVR, and the guide. In addition, the live channel guide has been updated to provide additional filtering and sorting options, as well as an easier way to flag channels as favorites. The channel listings have been changed as well, making it easy to view what’s on right now, later, and to schedule recordings.

Users may also anticipate updates to the DVR area, which will have a new dedicated page that makes it simpler to access and manage recorded films. Alternatively, take advantage of Sling’s new smarter search experience, which promises to speed up results and help you discover new material to watch.
